Washington Nationals' new darling pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, showcased his phenom talents in today's debut major league game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Strasburg, the 2009 #1 draft pick, struck out 14, gave up only 2 runs and walked zero in pitching a full game that took 2 hours and 19 minutes.
His fastballs reached 100 mph and his curves were nasty. The Nationals now have an east coast version of "The Freak" and I can't wait to see Lincecum and Strasburg battle one another.
Final Score
Pirates 2
Nationals 5
